the band: Our second album – Wear N’ Tear – in one sense was “made” in the Spring of 2004 at David Barbe’s Chase Park Transduction Studio in Athens, Georgia. In another sense, we’ve been making Wear N’ Tear since we formed back in August of 2001. This album is appropriately named because of the wear and tear that being in a touring rock band does to your body, mind, spirit, vehicle, trailer, instruments…you name it! One look at our trailer (held together by duct tape) that we just retired is indicative of what the miles can do to something or someone. So how or why do we keep going? I think one listen to our new album will answer that question for you. The miles on the road and the hours practicing, rehearsing, and playing have worn and torn us for sure, but as the saying goes - “with age comes wisdom” – such applies to Tishamingo. We are now a much wiser, seasoned, well-aged band than we were three years ago. I feel like our first album was an excellent debut for us. Like a brand-new instrument, it was shiny, pretty, well-made, and it sounded good. Now, for our follow-up, the wood in that instrument has had time to settle. The glue and laquer have set. There are a few nicks and dings on the finish, but the overall tone is warmer and richer. And it’s value has increased with age. Once again, such is the case with Tishamingo. I hope you enjoy the new album as much as we enjoyed putting it together. Happy listening and thanks for your support! - Proc
